Where once the ancient course of the Po of Adria, from which the name Arquà Polesine derives, was arching. Surrounded by a moat, in a huge park, the only one of its kind in Polesine, stands the medieval castle: built by the Marchesella family of Ferrara to defend their lands, it later became an Este stronghold; later conquered by the Serenissima Republic of Venice, it was later adapted as an elegant residence.
Inside, the beautiful frescoes, marvellous the myth of Phaeton, accompany us on a journey from the Middle Ages to the 18th century.

Among the many events that take place in this town, it is worth mentioning the May in Arquà, during which, in addition to the costume parade of the Palio and the related competitions (very nice the "ochi" race), deserve special mention, the magnificent fireworks displays of one of the most important companies in Italy in the sector that have their headquarters in Arquà Polesine.
