Is historically notorious for the massacre of 43 partisans killed by the fascists in 1944. The house of the barber, where the execution took place, is occupied by a small museum - that can be visited by appointment - that narrates what happened. The names of the 43 victims are remembered in the shrine next door. Between Canalbianco and the centre of Villamarzana, near the paleo riverbed of the Po of Adria, a very important archaeological area has been discovered. More recent is the presence of Benedictine monks, who first reclaimed the inland of Polesine. Their testimony is the beautiful church built in 1100 in the locality of Gognano. In this little village, we can also see a delightful complex with manor and rural court in Venetian style. Next to the Canalbianco, near the border with Frassinelle Polesine and the small church of S. Lorenzo, is a small cemetery where the victims of the 1951 flood lie.
Villamarzana comes alive in the first and second weekends of July thanks to the traditional Wheat Festival, with demonstrations of old-fashioned threshing, music, games and tasting of local products.
